Game Changers Online Course
ABOUT THE COURSE
The Game Changers is a 12 week online development programme for Mothers who know they want to do something new or make a change but don’t know where to start. Previous attendees have gone on to start their own businesses, change careers entirely, begin new projects, re-work their current career so it fits around family life and one is even now planning to go travelling with her husband and their baby! Others have made less obvious but none the less powerful changes, this is about so much more than just work.
This isn’t a quick fix nor is it about guaranteeing any ‘six figure income’ or that you will get any specific outcome. That’s kind of the point, I know this isn’t something you hear very often as a mother but this course is focused on YOU and what will work for you and your current situation. YOUR why, what will bring you more joy and satisfaction to your work and life longer term. Cutting out the things that are currently leaving you feeling drained, figuring out the things that set your heart on fire and give you energy, really feeling fulfilled whether that be through a work move or a hobby or a new project. And it isn’t delivered in a formal or corporate way nor does it deny the realities. I hate using the word ‘fun’ because it sounds contrived but it genuinely is; it’s fun, real, inspirational and deals with the practicalities (like how the hell can I afford / have the time to do something new) as well as the deeper stuff.
If you are considering spending thousands re-training or quitting your job or taking a step down to fit everything in or even doubting whether it can all work being a working mum then this course could be your answer. It can help you make sure that your next step is right for you, that it fits your priorities and what matters, that it will be doing something you love.
Maybe you’re frustrated by the lack of flexibility from an employer, just not feeling it about your job anymore or wanting to start a business but lacking ideas or the push to make it happen (or maybe the courage)? This is all about helping you get past that stuck stage.
This course helps you to rediscover what it is you DO love doing, feel like you are back in control and support you in creating the start of a truly life changing game plan for what next. A game plan that fits with what you REALLY want to be doing, a game plan that gets you excited and giddy and wanting to jump out of bed in the morning (o.k clearly we are more likely to be jumped on than out but you get the point). Really importantly a game plan that actually works for you and your mini tribe.
We believe passionately that having a community makes a massive difference so run this course as a kind of 12 week experience. We love the social element and would ideally have everyone meet up in person but where this isn’t possible think this is the next best thing. You’ll have flexibility to watch the workshops in your own time but we suggest a rough schedule so that you’re working alongside your unique group of other mothers. Group calls give you a chance to ask specific questions and build relationships so you won’t feel like you’re figuring this out alone. Within no time you’ll be feeling a little less lost and overwhelmed, a little more inspired. Ongoing support from others who really get it. All from the comfort of your own sofa.
You can view the full syllabus here which gives you tons more detail including live call dates OR do feel free to get in touch.
I believe passionately that it can and should be possible for women to combine a family with work they love. I am really proud of the reviews and feedback we’ve had from previous attendees who are doing just that. This isn’t just an ‘off the shelf’ faceless online course, it genuinely matters to me that it makes a difference. We’ve had over 50 women complete the programme, every single one who completed our survey said they would recommend it to a friend and 100% said that it had met their expectations. You can hear from lots of them on the reviews tab (I have persuaded a few to be on film too, watch this space).
Hopefully we’ll get to speak soon
The full 12 week programme includes the following sessions. All content is delivered digitally:
12 x mini video workshops
One per week these are based on the key steps for your Game Changing journey. We suggest a rough time frame so you have a clear structure and format to follow but actually they are all pre-recorded meaning you have full flexibility (we know how things come up).
1. Rediscovering your identity and creating the foundations for your Game Change
2. Working out what’s holding you back and getting in your way
3. Creating ideas and experimenting with options
4. Setting goals – you will come away with a clear plan for making it happen
4 x live group calls
A chance for you to connect with your unique group of other mothers. Each call has a theme, we discuss the workshops plus share ideas and advice. These are understandably one of previous attendees favourite features, sharing stories and realising you’re not alone is so powerful.
2 x live video sessions
At the start and end of the programme we’ll do a Facebook live for questions, sharing of some further examples and celebration.
Access to a private Facebook group
Purely for your unique group, here you can gain invaluable feedback on your ideas, ask for advice without any sort of judgement and find accountability for making stuff happen. This element is really special.
A weekly Game Changing challenge
To keep momentum and get you moving out of your comfort zone. There will be plenty of chat about these on the group calls and Facebook group.
You can read more detail on what’s involved through downloading the syllabus here.
Upon starting the course you’ll receive access to an online members area where you’ll find:
- The Guilty Mothers Guide to Game Changing – a beautiful workbook that can be printed out or used online and will provide you with a clear twelve step plan to follow. It is also broken down into sections by workshop with relevant activities so you can take notes and answer some further questions as you move through the programme.
- A load of extra supporting activities and information so that you can individualise your experience. Use these as and when you need to dig a bit deeper.
- A list of our favourite websites and blogs
- Advice and support from your closed Facebook group where you can chat and share with the other mothers on your intake (note: you will of course need to be on Facebook for this element!)
- Ongoing access to the members area beyond the 12 weeks so you can keep working on your plans (as long as your account is active)
- The Game Changers alumni – post programme you will also be added to our Game Changers alumni Facebook group where you can continue to get inspiration, skill swap, ask questions and make it happen.
No other materials required aside from a pad and pen, unless of course you want to use this as an excuse to go and buy some new stationery…
Ali. Library Manager.
It’s a journey, it reconnects what’s important and provides the structure and focus to work out how to move forward in both personal and professional areas of life. There is also a nurturing feel to it that makes it feel safe, approachable and achieveable.
There’s a fresh feel to this program, it’s not like the other corporate development courses that your forget once your walk out the door. The use of modern techniques makes the things we learnt possible to continue every day or week.I really believe that this is the new way to work, it’s revolutionary.
Sara. A wife, a mum, a maker.
I had a head full of ideas and a whole load of unfulfilled ambitions but I just couldn’t find a way to untangle the years of procrastination to get where I needed to be.
After Game Changers I have started to edge my toes out of my comfort zone a little bit more each day and I talk a lot more about my creative plans and ideas with people who aren’t just my husband and friends. I have also enrolled in the Digital Mums course to utilise my background in digital advertising too.
The whole experience was just so positive for me, and sometimes when you are trying to plan your future moves in your own head that positivity is something that is very hard to bring to yourself. I can’t tell you how apprehensive I was about doing the course. I am not one of life’s big sharers so the thought of bearing my inner battles to a group of strangers made me want to crawl back into my shell but everyone was lovely…the biggest thing for me was that it never felt like an exercise, more a discovery.
I was mid-way through my year of maternity leave (when attending Game Changers) and facing the prospect of going back to a charity development job that I loved, but with a salary that just didn’t add up against the cost of childcare. I was toying with the idea of returning to freelancing in the sector as a consultant and coach, which I’d done before, but was lacking confidence and a plan for how to approach making the leap away from the security of a job and back into working for myself.
I wanted time and space to explore ideas. The course gave me the opportunity to think just about me and what I wanted, which was totally refreshing after 6 months or more of focusing entirely on my new baby and her needs. Family and friends were too close to the situation to be able to talk through things properly and help me weigh up my options clearly, so the group gave me some much needed fresh perspective. The Game Changers workshops and exercises we did also helped me to reconnect with what I am good at and what I love doing, and I am now enjoying the process of building a portfolio career that aims to tick more of those boxes for me.
Rebecca. Teacher of children and now Yoga!
I taught my first yoga class last night!!! I was so nervous but thinking about how far I’d come really helped me. Without all your support and guidance through the Game Changers programme I would never ever have been able to do it.
Charlie. Business Owner, The Natural Wedding Company
The biggest change has been my attitude towards my own business. I came on the programme thinking I was going to find a new direction, realise I should stop my current business and go in a different direction. In fact, I have come away more positive about what I have. I think the programme has most importantly changed my mindset. It has reminded me that I need to prioritise enjoyment in my work, something I had lost and didn’t think was possible without a big change. I have also come to truly appreciate the importance of having time to myself, to think, to plan, to dream.
For me, the Game Changers programme was a course to re-find myself as a “career” woman but without ignoring that I am also a mother now.
Hannah. Events Manager.
I really loved this course and it felt like it flew by. The content was excellent and the knowledge and passion that you have made it really enjoyable and inspirational.
I have already recommended it to several people! I have described it as a programme that really gets you thinking about who you are and what you want out of life. It may be that you don’t have a definitive answer of what to do by the end of it but it makes you put steps in place to make changes in line with your values.
The workshops were really easy to follow along. Just perfect. I also loved the calls and hearing everyones stories and ideas. This is a course to rediscover yourself, what you stand for and how to achieve that change you crave. It’s true that you eat an elephant a bit at a time but you need tactics. I now have the confidence in my abilities and a toolkit to plan it with!
Harriet. Comms Manager.
I suppose what has fundamentally changed is that I know what I want. Before I think my head was just full of confusion at all the different business I ideas I had whereas I have now been able to sort out exactly what I want to do with a clear path to getting there.
I liked all of it! Especially the format (so involved yet from the comfort of my own home), Helen’s passion, knowledge and first hand experience and the Facebook group – amazing to build that sense of community.
I’d describe it as uplifting, enlightening, empowering. Rather than dreading the return to work post-maternity it helps you take control and work out what you want and how you can get it.
Rebecca, Business Development Mgr
I’m a full time working mum with a 16 month old and just really unmotivated in my current job. I can’t wait to leave but know I need a get out plan. I started to realise pretty early on that I wanted to do life coaching – so before I was even half way through the GC course I had enrolled with The Coaching Academy and it felt right straight away to be focusing on making having my own business a reality. I liked the different elements you combined – videos, images, quotes, activities, meditation – particularly liked the practical advice and Helen has such a lovely manner and was really easy to listen to. I also liked how you didn’t have to stick to the time slots as I got really behind with the course and have only just finished it now, well after the allotted times! It is a wonderful non-threatening intelligent course that advocates the idea that it’s so worth taking the time to focus on your own needs and dreams and makes you feel really positive that change is entirely possible and achievable.
I needed help and guidance in deciding what to do with my life and I wanted to meet like-minded mums, especially ones running their own business with young kids to find out how they cope! Since doing the course I have reconnected with my old self, rediscovered what brings me joy and fulfilment. Now I have the tools that I need to make things happen for myself. I’m especially grateful for the time management and organisational skills and help with goal-setting.
Don’t want to miss out on future dates? We’ll be releasing information about our next intake shortly, sign up below and you’ll be the first to hear as they’re added…
